2021 Buhl Halloween Parade!

Hello everyone! We here at FNBOB have decided to dip our hands in the candy bag that is the 2021 Buhl Halloween Parade! But instead of taking a big old handful of goodies, we figured we could help supply some goodies for the participants that will be floating (so-to-speak 😉) around town! We have decided to give away not one, not two, but three prizes to the best voted floats of the parade! Much appreciation to the wonderful citizens of this amazing city for putting this together and keeping our little community close knit and fun for all, especially the kiddos! Anybody can enter their float into the parade, near or far! You can decorate your car, truck, four-wheeler, side-by-side, etc.… You will just need to contact Jessica Carter to sign up or else check out the “Buhl Parade Planning” page on Facebook for more information! We must give a huge thank you to Jessica, Misty, and Andy for donating their time to make sure this event is possible! Due to the recent impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, we will be altering our operations of business slightly. Starting today (3/23/2020) at 12pm we will be closing our lobbies at both locations to only limited services. We will still be operating our regular hours as usual, but urge everyone to use our Drive-thru services unless absolutely necessary. We want all our customers and employees to remain safe and healthy during the current situation. With “Social Distancing” becoming even more strongly urged, this is our best course of action to help everyone stay well and still be able to accommodate all the financial needs of our loyal customers. Please use our online functions to help lower the need for making a trip to the bank. If you already have an online account great! If you do not, simply go to our webpage, www.fnbob.com, and click the enroll button. If you need assistance with setting one up, we are only a phone call away and will be more than happy to assist you.

If you know ahead of time you will need to meet with a loan officer, open a new account, or access your safe deposit box, we recommend that you call a day before and schedule an appointment to meet with someone. We have printable applications for loans, accounts and more available on our website for your convenience. We have the capabilities to do electronic signings as well.

This definitely will be an adjustment for everyone, and believe us we definitely understand. Our goal make everything as easy as possible while still looking out for all of you and our staff. COVID-19 UPDATE

Dear FNBOB Family,

As the COVID-19 continues to evolve, there seems to be more questions than answers out there.  I want to reassure you that we have spent years preparing and testing plans to ensure that a pandemic like we are currently facing will not disrupt your very important financial services. We understand your concerns and want to ensure you that we have taken aggressive steps to ensure that there will be no disruption of your banking needs. 

  • We have implemented travel restrictions for our employees to better protect your health
  • We have implemented enhanced cleaning and sanitary practices to minimize the spread of any virus
  • We are applying social distancing techniques to better protect you

To help slow the spread of any illness and for your optimal safety, we suggest using electronic banking channels as much as possible.  We suggest taking advantage of internet banking services and using your debit card instead of cash to reduce the transmission of the COVID-19 or other illnesses. By using your debit card instead of cash, you will greatly reduce the chance of transferring illness within our great communities and keep our neighbors safer.

Chisholm Food Shelf Drop Site!

We are excited to announce we will be a permanent “Drop-Site” for the Chisholm Food Shelf all year long. So if you have any NONPERISHABLE, NON-EXPIRED items you wish to donate bring em’ on down to the bank! The branch in Buhl has a Bin in it’s lobby to place your items. If it is easier for you to drop at the Mountain Iron office, no problem at all. Just leave your items with the person at the front desk and they will be sure to get your items where they need to go! 2019 Mesabi Humane Society Gala!!

The Mesabi Humane Society will be hosting their Annual 4 Paws Sake Fundraising Gala. Enjoy dinner, drinks, live music and a silent auction all for a great cause, 4 Paws Sake! This is such a special event and we are very proud and honored to show our support and help spread the word to get this organization all the support they deserve!

The event will be held on April 12, 2019 from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Virginia Elks Lodge located at 220 N 5th Ave W. Virginia, MN. For any questions please call 218-741-7425.

The Mesabi Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non- profit organization which means all donations are tax deductible. Your tax-deductible donations will go directly to benefit animals in need. Their goal is to raise funds used for care and adoption of abused, neglected, stray, and unwanted animals. They take in animals that other shelters refuse to accept, often times these animals require significant, costly veterinary expenses. Our total coverage area is about 6860 square miles of Saint Louis County.

In order to accomplish their mission, they are asking for sponsorships from local businesses and individuals who want to improve our community and the lives of our animals in need. Event Sponsorship Packages range from $1000 to $100. As a sponsor, you will receive positive multi-media attention from your association with The Mesabi Humane Society.

We will have tickets available at the bank and will be accepting any and all donations anyone wishes to give! Below you will find a link for either a sponsorship form in case your business wishes to be a sponsor or a form for your business to be entered into their silent auction. again we cannot stress how much of an amazing program this is and we want to thank you all in advance for your generous support and donations!

For those of you who are unaware, April is Community Banking Month, dedicated to celebrating the longstanding tradition of local hometown community banking.

We here at FNBOB are proud to be a community bank! So, we are going to be doing a couple things throughout the month to show you, the customer, how much we appreciate your business and loyalty to our establishment!

 

“How Many Pennies Are in the Pig Pen”

This contest will be running from April 12th – April 27th

This contest is quite simple! All you have to do is:

Come into either or both of our branches, ask to see the “Pig Pen” and take your guess!

We will also take your name and current phone number so we are able to inform you of your winnings!

Winners will be announced Friday (April 27th) @ 3pm on our webpage and Facebook!

DO NOT have to be present to win. The bank will contact both winners by phone.

(Prize includes: FNBOB T-Shirt, Hat, & $25 Gift Card)

Restrictions: Contestants must be a current FNBOB customer; if a contestant guesses over the amount of Pennies  in the pen, that guess will be forfeited; Contestants can enter the contest at both locations but will only be permitted to win at one location, by default the next closest guess will win at the location that between your two guesses was furthest from correct.

Example: John Smith guesses 54 @ Buhl compared to 55 which is the closest, but John Smith also guessed 46 @ Mt. Iron compared to 48 which was the closest. John Smith would win the Buhl contest being only 1 number different compared to Mt. Iron’s guess of 2 numbers different, and the next closest guess in Mt. Iron would win their contest.

Parkview Pennies for Patients 2018

Hello everyone! Yours truly, Penny here.

Today (January 23rd), I will be over at Parkview Elementary in Virginia. We are over here helping the staff and students, once again, raise money and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! This is such a wonderful program and for such a great cause! All donations go towards helping families and children with blood cancers. We here at FNBOB are so touched by seeing our communities get together to support each other that we’ve decided to do our part and be a donation drop center for this wonderful program! This just makes it a little easier for those of you that wish to donate but don’t really know how to go about it. We will be accepting donations at both our Buhl and Mountain Iron locations! And here is the kicker, whatever amount in donations the bank takes in throughout the week, the bank will match that total so we can double the donation given!! No donation is too big nor too small, so honestly whatever you can manage to give is so much more than you know!! Thanks everyone for your continued support and for making us the best local area bank because of you, our great customers!!

FNBOB Customer Suggestions!

Hello everyone, Penny here!

With the holidays fast approaching we thought we would reach out to all our amazing customers to see what they think would make us here at FNBOB an even better organization. Sort of your own little “Christmas list”, not with Santa, but with your very own financial institution!

We here at FNBOB pride ourselves in being a very customer oriented business and highly respect each of your opinions. We know we wouldn’t be here without you!

So with that being said…

We would like to hear any suggestions or ideas you, as our valued customer, might have. Our main goal is to make our financial institution as friendly and comfortable of an establishment as possible, for ALL cutomers. We want to help make your everyday banking duties convenient as well as safe and secure. Whether you think we should expand our internet banking and merge into the mobile banking world or maybe something as simple as what we could do, bring in, change, or maybe remove from our establishment to make your visit that much better and more comfortable for you.

Now we want to make this fun, but it is also a very serious matter to us. We will be putting a post onto our Facebook page, which will be pretty much identical to this one, where you will be able to comment on the post your suggestions and/or your ideas. If you wish to be a bit more discrete, you can also just send us a message on our Facebook page as well. If you do decide to use Facebook for your suggestions, we would greatly appreciate everyone being respectful towards each other and use your discretion when commenting/suggesting. We will take every suggestion into consideration but will not tolerate bullies or rude comments and behavior of any kind.

Now along with the Facebook post, we also will be placing “Suggestion Boxes” at both our Mt. Iron and Buhl locations. This will be the most private way to go about submitting your suggestion. Simply, when you come in to do your banking business, stop by one of the boxes on your way out, write your suggestion on a piece of paper (provided), and drop it in the box! If you don’t wish to include your name with your suggestion that’s no problem, but we would encourage you do so.

The Facebook post will be posted on Monday, December 11th as well as the “Suggestion boxes” being placed out at our two branches. We will run the post and keep the boxes out until 5pm Friday, December 29th.

We just want to strive to be the best small town local bank we can be! And what better way to make improvements then to ask the source and center of our business, you the customer!
